I liked the way this sentence made pictures pop up in my head. I don't know why, but for some reason I pictured people with frogs in their throats... yeah... 

I thought it was an interesting detail that added to the stress of the scene. There's really good writing in this book, I'm looking forward to reading more. Oh! And so far, no one has died. :-)
